Description
The VAMC Minneapolis, MN has a requirement for a Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) Genotyping System to be provided under a cost-per-test or a Reagent Rental Agreement. Requirements are included the following: DESCRIPTION/SPECIFICATIONS/STATEMENT OF WORK 1. Overall System Specifications Contractor to provide the Minneapolis V.A. Medical Center, One Veterans Drive, Minneapolis, MN, 55417, with an integrated, DNA sequence based, HCV genotyping system that incorporates reagents (Chemistry) in a kit format with instrumentation (Hardware) and software which provides an interpretative HCV type and subtype report based upon clinically accepted guidelines. A. Chemistry Must offer the entire platform for in-house HCV genotyping. The Genotyping System must utilize simultaneous, bi-directional sequencing reaction for all tested specimens to enable the user to perform a single tube System must be compatible with other PCR qualitative and quantitative assays, so the PCR product can be used for the HCV genotyping assay. The System must have no column or gel purification step prior to sequencing analysis. The System must provide single tube Real Time-PCR. The System kit must provide both positive & negative controls in the kit. B. Hardware 1. The Automated DNA Sequencing System must provide rapid, automated sequencing, with a small sequencer footprint that will easily fit on a counter top. 2. The System must produce a minimum 5 complete genotypes per system per run with minimal hands on time 3. The System must accommodate up to 2 sequencers per computer workstation. As throughput demands increase, the system can be updated and networked to a maximum of 10 Sequencers to improve productivity requirements. 4. The System must provide a rapid photo-polymerization unit that operates with disposable single-use glass plates and acrylamide cartridges, which minimize exposure to acrylamide (a neurotoxin). 5. The System must provide a rapid gel preparation 6. The System must utilize a solid-state laser system, gas-based laser system is not acceptable C. Software 1. The System workstation software must provide an Interpretative HCV Genotypic Report based upon clinically accepted guidelines. 2. The Interpretive HCV Report must incorporate the following features: ? Type ? Subtype ? Subjective 3. The Systems Interpretative HCV data must be reviewed and updated semiannually using currently documented information to include any pertinent information. 4. The System must offer full security, ensuring patient confidentiality and multitasking capabilities so that workflow is optimized. 5. The System must offer genetic fingerprinting software to assess positive sample ID for each test run which ensures accuracy of results and detects potential contamination. 6. V.A. Medical Center requires a system that can provide the sequencing gel run and the data analyzed in less than 1 hour with the above-mentioned specifications. 7. The System should incorporate fully automated data analysis with bi-directional sequence confirmation. 2. Quality, Regulatory and Product Support 1. All users of the System will be provided on-site customer training. 2. Contractor will provide at no additional charge all preventative maintenance and service programs required for hardware and software. Firms with the ability to provide theses requirements are requested to notify Linda Kelly, Contracting Officer, at the address in this announcement by C.O.B. July 10, 2007.
