- VA263-07-RP-0064 BUILDING 70 INTERIOR FINISHES - FLOORING PHASE II PROJECT Issued: 6/28/2007 Proposals Due 7/19/2007 Site Visit: Contact POC for Details Z (Maintenance, Repair, or Alteration of Real Property) The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, labor and supervision to remove existing vinyl composition flooring and replace with sheet vinyl flooring at the VA Medical Center, Minneapolis, MN as follows: Base Bid: Remove existing vinyl composition tile and vinyl base in corridors per provided floor plans. The area is approx 25,000 sq ft. Additional areas may be added by change order as funding permits. The contractor will be responsible for providing all labor, materials, equipment, labor, and supervision for installing Armstrong sheet vinyl per floor plan. The sheet vinyl will be flash coved and approx 4" up the wall covering all remaining glue left from the old vinyl base. Contractor will be responsible for repairing any damage to wall covering during removal of vinyl wall base. Installation will be accomplished after 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. All work areas will need to be scheduled ahead of time with Marci Collins, Interior Designer, to ensure patient, staff and visitor access. Liquidated damages will be assessed at $100.00 per day for each calendar day beyond the contract completion time. Project duration is 120 days from issuance of Notice to Proceed. A Pre-construction conference will be required and will be scheduled at the time of award. A site visit for prospective contractors will be held on: Date and Time TBD; meet in Facilities Engineering Service, Basement, Bldg 70, Room BR-145 at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center, One Veterans Drive, Minneapolis, MN 55417. NIACS is 238320 at $13 million dollars. The magnitude of the project is estimated between $100,000 and $250,000. This is 100% set-aside for small business. Specifications, Drawing, and Bid documents will be available, to those requesting documents, at the site visit, (One hard copy of specs and drawings and one compact disk (CD) containing the same documents and drawings). Prospective contractors MUST request these documents in advance from Michael Owen, Contracting Office by e-mail to Michael.owen@med.va.gov, or by Fax to 612-467-2072. The VA feels that the Site Visit is essential to understanding the project. While the Site Visit is not mandatory, prospective contractors are advised that FAR Clause 52.236-3 Site Investigation and Conditions Affecting the Work apply. Facsimile or other electronic responses will NOT be accepted for the purposes of proposal submission but will be accepted to make inquiries, to request clarifications, or to request documents for the Site Visit. Proposals are due Friday, July 19, 2007 at 4:30 p.m. CT. The Government desires that proposals be presented stapled or fastened other than in three-ring binders. Proposals shall be delivered by the due date and time to VISN 23 Contracting and Purchasing Office, Bldg. 68, ATTN: Michael Owen, VA Medical Center, One Veterans Drive, Minneapolis, MN 55417. Late proposals shall be rejected. No other documents will be posted to this website for this project.
