- This notice is being publicized in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 5.101 requiring Contracting Officers to disseminate information for proposed contract actions expected to exceed $25,000. Further in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 it is the intent of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to make award to the Orion Electronics. The intended order will provide for an upgrade to 9 of DEA's ST801 to ST 811. Orion Electronics designed, built, installed, and has continued to maintain the DEA ST801 system which is critical to the provision of CDMA tracking of communications. The upgrade provides additional capability to the current system. Orion Electronics holds the proprietary rights to the ST801 and ST811 Systems. As a result Orion Electronics is the only responsible source to provide the necessary upgrade to the ST 801 system.
