Description
The Food and Drug Administration intends to award a purchase order on a sole source non-competitive basis to BioDot, 17781 Sky Park Circle, Irvine, CA. The FDA will purchase a Microarrayer (AD1500 ASPIRATE dispense Platform 2 BioJet Plus Dispenser Kits Vacuum Magnetic Nest Humidity Control PC Workstation with AxSys Software Installation and Training, 6001-A187 A Assy next 3 mtp portrait AD1500, 6001-A188 A Assy Nest 14 Glass Slide AD1500, VP4000 A VP4000 Vacuum Pump, and BioServe 2 1 Contract ? Preventative Maintenance and Performance Verification). This system will be critical in the development of new sensing approaches based on DNA analysis that can be used to characterize the bacteria associated with foodborne illnesses. The system required will greatly improve the development of new array based technologies that will ultimately increase the speed at which bacteria can be detected and identified. The microarrayer dispensing platform possessing micro-non-contact printing with up to 4 solenoid micro-jets, an integrated wash station, a carousal or nest to accommodate up to 14 slide materials substrates, 4 microplates, or membrane / flat substrates to be printed on, a humidity controlled chamber that encloses the complete assembly and software to control the microarraying robot. BioDot is the only known vendor that meets our specifications. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTES. However, sources may submit descriptive literature, fully documenting their capabilities, which will be considered by the agency. A determination to compete this procurement based on response(s) to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The FDA intends to make an award immediately after the response date of this notice. The award will be made in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures
