- NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announces its intention to negotiate and issue a sole source award to Guava Technologies, Inc., Hayward, CA, for the following items: 1) Easy Cyte Mini Base (Part No. 0500-1430), 2) Easy Cyte Mini Assay Suite (all modules) (Part No. 0500-1600), and 3) technical support (Part No. 0500-0440). To the best of my knowledge, there are no other dealers. Guava Technologies, Inc., is the manufacturer and the only source to provide the specific equipment fit, form, and function to meet CDC?s requirement. CDC intends to negotiate this requirement with Guava Technologies, Inc., under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). The sole source procurement will be awarded as a simplified acquisition in accordance with FAR Subpart 13 procedures. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination to compete this procurement based on a response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Interested parties who believe they possess the capabilities to satisfy this requirement should submit a capability statement demonstrating their abilities to meet this requirement. All responses should be received by July 10, 2007, at 10 AM EST. All responses must be in writing and can be sent via email to bbv9@cdc.gov or fax to 404-639-8095.
