- Description
- The Social Security Administration, Region II, requires a contractor to furnish and install two sets of extruded aluminum balanced doors at the ground floor rear entrance to the Addabbo Federal Building, located in Jamaica, Queens, New York. The contractor shall also dismantle and remove existing revolving and adjacent doors. A summary (not all-inclusive - see solicitation) of the characteristics of the door sets are as follows: doors must have concealed overhead powered (low energy) operator with all needed modulars, controls, control buttons and safety sensors installed which will ensure that the completed installation will meet all current ADA handicap guidelines; all rails, stiles, sidelights, thresholds and horizontal midrails will be formed of anodized aluminum; the mechanical locking system for this entrance will be concealed vertical rod panic exit device with a cylinder operated thumb turn; fabrication of return walls to create a vestibule; vestibule walls and doors will be made with quarter inch safety glass and the ceiling will be made with an opaque finish 3/8 inch minimum thickness glass; all metals used to fabricate this vestibule with are clear anodized aluminum; the manufacture must have quality assurance system registered to IS09001:2000 standard; all extruded aluminum alloy shall be 6063-T52 with a wall thickness of .125 with a clear anodized finish. This acquisition will be conducted in accordance with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This is a total small business set aside. The NAICS code is 332321 with a size standard of 500 employees. The Request for Quotation is expected to be issued on approximately June 29, 2007 and may be downloaded at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. The date for a site visit will be contained in the solicitation.
