Description
NASA/ARC has a requirement for Four FLIR Camera Lenses and calibration services to be used with NASA Ames existing FLIR Thermal Imaging Camera systems. The SC3000 camera system will require a 5 degree lens and a 60 degree lens. The SC2000 will require a 7 degree lens and a 45 degree lens. NASA/ARC intends to purchase the items from FLIR Systems Inc. The camera lenses under this procurement are specifically designed to operate with a specific FLIR thermal imaging camera. The cameras include the FLIR model SC2000 and SC3000. This procurement also includes the calibration of these lenses with their respective FLIR cameras FLIR Systems Inc. has designed and engineered these lenses to function with these cameras. The SC2000 and SC3000 camera equipment products are manufactured and marketed exclusively by FLIR Systems Inc. These cameras lenses are the proprietary and intellectual property of FLIR Systems Inc. Consequently, no other manufacturer or distributor currently sells these cameras lenses or has similar lenses that are compatible for operation with these cameras. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on July 11, 2007. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
