- JT3, at Edwards AFB, is seeking a vendor to enhance its existing Global Positioning System (GPS)-Aided Inertial Navigation Reference (GAINR) Lite (GLite) System. The GLite System is designed to capture and record real time navigation data while in flight. The GLite system, developed by the Time Space Position Information (TSPI) department of the Air Force Flight Test Center (AFFTC) Range Division, provides a modular platform for the use of a variety of Global Positioning System (GPS) and Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) sensors. The GLite Configuration 2-B (C2B) integrates the Novatel OEM-V GPS receiver, the Honeywell Ring-Laser-Gyro HG1700AG58 IMU, and various other Commercial Off-The-Shelf products to record GPS/IMU data, produce a GPS/IMU blended solution in real-time, and interface with various monitors and controls devices. The unit records measurements, the trajectory solution, and status information to removable media, or sends this information to a serial port for recording by an external device. There is now a need for a fully flight certified unit with the capabilities of the GLite C2B. The goal of this effort is to produce a certified unit that meets military flight specifications and provides all of the GLite C2B capabilities along with some modest enhancements.
