Description
Pre-solicitation notice Synopsis Lightweight Water Purification System - Military Use The United States Marine Corps requires approximately 175 Lightweight Water Purification System (LWPS) that are sized to fit on a standard HMMWV M1152 cargo bed or trailer M1102H. The LWPS consists of three functional components: 1) Raw Water Feed, 2) Reverse Osmosis Purification, and 3) Product Water Distribution. The weight of the LWPS with Basic Issue Items (BII) shall not exceed 1,940 pounds (Threshold) / 1,000 pounds (Objective). Total weight shall not exceed 2,740 pounds when additional extended capability modules are included. The LWPS will be capable of purifying water that meets the Tri-Service Field Water Quality Standards of TBMED 577. The LWPS shall produce potable water at a rate of 75 gallons per hour (GPH) from a seawater source and 125 GPH from a freshwater source. The LWPS will emphasize simplicity of operation and maintenance and shall rely only on multi-fuel diesel engine direct drive pumps to move water through the system. The LWPS Spare Parts Packag e (maximum quantity of 60) shall include, technical manuals, warranty, and operator/maintainer training. A solicitation is expected to be released in July 07.
