The following is a synopsis of the Questions and Answers (Q&A) that were provided during the 20 Jun 07 site survey conducted for the JTAMDO VTC Upgrade solicitation. Q: Does JTAMDO own the source code for the existing/current equipment? A: No. Q: Does a competitor in this solicitation own the source code? A: Yes, the source code for the existing equipment is proprietary to AVS. Q: Will the source code be made available? A: No. AVS will not release that information. Q: Are electronic versions of the specs available for all equipment listed on the rack? A: Yes. Hard copies of the specs were provided in a package to each vendor in attendance at the site survey. These same specs will be scanned and provided as part of the amended solicitation. Q: Who is the JTAMDO Technical POC for this project? Bell Street Arlington, VA 22202-3511 Phone: (703) 602-5374 E-mail: debbie.watson@js.pentagon.mil Q: Are the front speakers in the VTC Conference room specifics or used separately from the ceiling speakers? A: All of the speakers in the conference room operate as one. There is only one volume control. Q: Are all of the microphones in the VTC Conference room on one circuit or zoned? A: The microphones are zoned. We have three (3) zones consisting of the lectern, table and ceiling Q: Is there a touch panel at the control station and can it be manipulated? A: Yes. Q: Is there control in the podium? A: Yes Q: Is the system ISDN only or IP combined? A: ISDN only, no IP. Q: How many ISDN lines coming into the room? A: 3 ISDN lines, each with overflow (call waiting) lines Q: Is there a single laptop input to the control system? A: Yes, located at the operator control station. Q: Can vendors propose alternate solutions or equivalent equipment to the model and specifications currently listed in the solicitation? A: Yes. Alternative/equivalent equipment may be proposed as part of vendor solution sets but must meet all specifications identified in the solicitation Q: Are there clearance requirements for personnel installing the system? A: No. Personnel conducting installation/integration of the new system will be required to have a JTAMDO escort at all times while in the facility, no exceptions. Q: Does the control panel control the scrolling classification display lights on both sides in the VTC Conference room? A: Yes, as well as the drop down screen at the front of the room. Q: Do both of the touch panels have the same functionality? A: Yes. There is a touch panel in the podium and a touch panel at the control station. They are both have the same functionality. They are both password protected and. Q: Where would we position a second rack or half rack if needed to install the new equipment? A: There should be no need for a second rack or half rack based on the needed equipment specified in the solicitation.
