- RADIOISOTOPE IDENTIFICATION DEVICE SYNOPSIS The Transportation Security Administration intends to issue a solicitation for the procurement of four (4) Hand-Held Mechanically-Cooled, High-Purity Germanium (HPGe) Radioisotope Identification Devices (HPGe RIDs) for the detection and identification of radionuclides(s), and extended maintenance (operation and maintenance support services) contracts. Market research has indicated CANBERRA, Inc. and ORTEC, Inc. as potential sources for the devices. The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) codes for this procurement are 334515, 334516 and 334519.
