- This is a sources sought announcement to seek potential vendors that could fulfill the below requirement. THIS SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS AND THE GOVERNMENT IS NOT COMMITTED TO AWARD A CONTRACT PURSUANT TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. NO SOLICITATION PACKAGE IS AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME AND REQUESTS FOR SOLICITATION PACKAGES WILL NOT RECEIVE A RESPONSE. The applicable NAICS code is 334516 and the Size Standard is 500 employees. This Sources Sought Synopsis is in support of market research being conducted by the NIH to identify capable potential businesses and their socio economic status for the procurement of electron microscope system components for the National Institutes of Health as described below. Below is a Draft Statement of Work: Draft Statement of Work/Specifications The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Office of Research Services (ORS) is conducting a market survey to determine the availability and capability of interested businesses to provide compatible components with an electron microscope system currently being acquired. The items listed within this statement of work will be used in conjunction with a Tecnai G2 20 Twin electron microscope or equivalent. Salient Characteristics for the Electron Microscope System Components 1. The Contractor shall provide a high tilt tomography holder. 2. The Contractor shall provide a high tilt, cryotransfer tomography holder. 3. The Contractor shall provide a cooling control unit. 4. The Contractor shall provide a Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) flange. 5. The Contractor shall provide a Sutter interface kit. 6. The Contractor shall provide an air kit. 7. The Contractor shall provide a water kit. 8. The Contractor shall provide installation and any necessary training for the equipment. THIS SOURCES SOUGHT IS FOR INFORMATION AND PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY AND IS NOT TO BE CONSTRUED AS A COMMITMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT. NO REIMBURSEMENT WILL BE MADE FOR ANY COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH PROVIDING INFORMATION IN RESPONSE TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT AND ANY FOLLOW-UP INFORMATION REQUESTS. RESPONDENT WILL NOT BE NOTIFIED OF THE RESULTS OF THE REVIEWS. ALL INFORMATION SUBMITTED IN RESPONSE TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT MUST BE RECEIVED ON OR BEFORE THE CLOSING DATE. THE CLOSING DATE FOR RESPONSES IS 3PM EST TIME, JULY 3, 2007. PLEASE PROVIDE DESCRIPTIVE LITERATURE TO SHOW THAT THE PRODUCT OFFERED CONFORMS TO THE SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS FOR THE ELECTRON MICROSCOPE SYSTEM COMPONENTS WITHIN THIS MARKET SURVEY.
