- Description
- The U. S. Geological Survey, Central Energy Resources Team has a requirement as part of a joint international project, to train Afghan counterparts in the interpretation of multi-channel seismic data. The PC based interpretation software that the Afghans will be working with is called GeoGraphix and is from Landmark Graphics Corp. The USGS has a need for a contractor to conduct the following three classes which will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia: 1. GeoGraphix-GESXplorer, 2. Geographix-PRIZM, and 3. GeoGraphix, Seisvision. The contractor must be certified to teach these classes and be able to conduct the training in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Based on information available at this time, and in accordance with 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), implemented by FAR 6.302-1, the Government considers the services specified as a sole source from Landmark Graphics Sdn Hhd, Level 75, Tower 2, Petronas Twin Towers, Kuala Lumpur City Centre, Kuala Lumpur 50088 Malaysia, and proposes to negotiate a contract with that firm. However, should additional sources be identified, they will be considered. Firms who feel that they can furnish the required services are invited to submit in writing an affirmative response to this announcement. An affirmative response would include literature, brochures and such other materials, which correspond to the required items stated herein. This information will be evaluated and used to determine if competitive opportunities exist. Since no solicitation document exists, requests for such document without accompanying information will be considered non-responsive to this request without further consideration. This notice may represent the Government's only official notice to the procurement.
