- *****The anticipated issue date of the solicitation is changed to 5 July 2007.***** With this announcement, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers issues a pre-solicitation notice for the following project: designing, furnishing, installing, and testing a new microprocessor based railroad signal system for the vertical lift railroad bridge in Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts. The Contractor shall furnish a complete and detailed system design including all hardware, software, firmware, and documentation as well as details of all interconnections necessary. The Contractor shall furnish and inst all all system components, cables and equipment to form a complete, workable, and properly operating system. The Contractor shall perform factory testing of system compone nts, field installation of signal cable, field testing of components and the complete signal system, and cutover from the existing signal system to the new signal system to ensure proper operation and the adherence to all applicable laws, codes, and standa rds. The estimated cost of this work is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. This solicitation is unrestricted as to business size. The NAICS code for the work is 237990 with a size standard of $31,000,000.00. The solicitation shall be made available via the Internet on or about 5 July 2007. To download the solicitation, prospective con tractors shall register with and download the solicitation from www.fedteds.gov. Registration instructions are available at this website. Amendments, if any, will be available at this Internet site. Neither telephonic, mailed, nor faxed requests for solicitation documents will be accepted. All responsible concerns may submit a proposal, which will be considered by the New England District.
