Description
Dean of Faculties Technical Support - Sources Sought Notice This Sources Sought Notice is issued for planning purposes only; no solicitation is being issued at this time. For reference purposes use the following reference number FA7000-07-R-0019. The 10th Contracting Division, at the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA), Colorado Springs, Colorado seeks potential sources to provide Technical Support for the Dean of Faculties (DF) various research centers. The DF technical support contract services the following research centers within DF: Human Environment Research Center, Chemistry Research Center, Space and Atmospheric Research Center, Center for Aerospace Structural Life Extension, Laser and Optics Research Center, Center for Physics Education Research, Aeronautics Research Center, Modeling and Simulation Research Center, Space Systems Research Center, the Academy Center for Information Security, Operations Research, and the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. The Institute for National Security Studies and the Institute for Information Technology Applications also require support. In addition, all DF departments engage in basic research and may require support; also, new centers and institutes are likely to come into being during the life of this contract. These departments perform a large variety of research projects; ranging from the demilitarization and decontamination of chemical warfare agents to laser eye studies to the design and development of small satellites. The professional trades needed to perform are: Engineers and Scientists, Research Specialists, Laboratory Technicians, Systems Administration, Computer Programming, Project Management, Aerospace Systems Integrator, Senior Technical Analyst, Senior Editor, Technical Editor, Conference Specialist, Computer Automated Drafting (CAD) Specialist, Desktop Publishing Specialist, Computer Based Training (CBT) Specialist, Multimedia Development Specialist, Linguist Courseware Developer, Entry Level Research Assistant, Admin Services Supervisor, and Administrative Assistant. In general terms, this contract shall be an avenue for DF to bring on specialized research and support professionals as varying research projects arise. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 541710 ? Research and Development in the Physical, Engineering, and Life Sciences and the size standard is 500 employees. This Sources Sought Notice is also issued for the purpose of market research in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 10. All businesses capable of providing this requirement are invited to respond. Any information provided by industry to the Government as a result of this sources sought notice is voluntary. The Government will not pay for any information submitted in response to this sources sought notice. If interested in responding to this notice, the government requests interested parties submit a brief description of their company's business size, business status (i.e. small business, disabled veteran, disadvantaged, HUB zone, woman-owned), anticipated teaming arrangements, and a description of similar support offered to the Government and to commercial customers. Include contract magnitude and points of contact for each example provided (name of the point of contact (POC), address, e-mail, telephone number, and the company's web page, if applicable).
