- Description
- The Department of Veterans Affairs - IT Acquisition Center has a requirement to purchase IronPort hardware to upgrade existing hardware, and renew a licensing software agreement for IronPort Anti-spam Software, for a period of one year. The IronPort hardware and software is designed to control and mitigate the amount of SPAM email entering and leaving agency servers. This action is to justify the use of a Brand Name Description as described in FAR 6.302-1(c), Application for Brand Name Description. Although IronPort Products are exclusively manufactured by IronPort, the hardware and software license can be purchased from a number of agent contractors at a variety of prices. This product will be solicited and purchased by utilizing the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Scientific and Engineering Workstation Procurement (SEWP) contracting vehicle as specified by a VA directive.
