- Brookhaven Science Associates plans to acquire a Focused Ion Beam (FIB) system for the Proximal Probe g Laboratory of the Center for Functional Nanomaterials (CFN) at Brookhaven National Laboratory The UHV Focused Ion Beam (FIB) column with control electronics and software should provide a complete and ready to use system after been attached to an existing UHV chamber providing a suitable stable sample support and positioning. It should consist of the FIB column with ion source, ion optics, beam blanker and detector (as specified below in detail) and shall be mounted on a 63CF flange. A external secondary detector on an 35CF flange shall be included. The complete control electronics shall be mounted in a 19? rack. A ready to use computer system with FIB control software for imaging and milling of arbitrary user defined structures shall be provided 1 UHV Focused Ion Beam column with control electronics and software 1.1 Major UHV Focused Ion Beam column components 1.2 Secondary detector (SE) on external 35 CF flange 1.3 Major UHV Focused Ion Beam column specifications 1.4 Electronics and software for FIB column 1.5 Control Computer System 2.0 Upgradeability 2.
