- Description
- This project is for construction of a 1,195 gross s.f. postal facility, in accordance with USPS approved plans and specifications. The USPS-owned site is located on WV Rt. 6 in Red Jacket, West Virginia. The project site is approximately one acre and will require demolition of asphalt paved areas, several small wood-framed structures, concrete pads, playground equipment and chain link fencing. New site improvements will be limited to approximately one-third acre and will require over-excavation in the area of the new building to remove undesirable soils and importation of suitable material. New site improvements will require connection to municipal utilities, flexible and rigid pavements, site signage, sight lighting and new curb cut for site entrance from WV Rt. 6. New postal facility will be a single-story framed structure with face brick and shingles, complete with windows, doors/hardware, lighting and plumbing fixtures, finishes, and contractor-furnished/installed postal equipment/fixtures. An intrusion detection system will be required for this building. The estimated cost of the project is between $300,000 and $325,000 with construction completion within 240 calendar days from notice to proceed. The Postal Service encourages the participation of small, minority, and women-owned business subcontractors for this project. The Postal Service will select the offeror that provides the best value, taking into consideration technical and cost-related factors. PRE-PROPOSAL MEETING WILL BE HELD AT THE EXISTING RED JACKET MAIN POST OFFICE ON MONDAY, AUGUST 21, 2006, AT 1:30 P.M. The SOLICITATION PACKAGE will be available on or around August 11, 2006.
