Description
The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Digestive, Diabetes & Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) intends to procure one each of the following new product and service from Amaxa Inc, 205 Perry Parkway, Suite 7, Gaithersburg, MD 20877. (1) AAM-1001 Nucleofector 96-Well Shuttle with Laptop and Software and (2) Two year extended warranty for the Nucleofector 96-Well Shuttle. The Institute intends to procure these items by other than full and open competition from Amaxa Inc under the authority of FAR 6.302. The Nucleofector 96-Well Shuttle is needed to work with our Amaxa Nucleofector II system, which is currently in our labs. The 96 well attachment will expand our existing Amaxa transfection system for high input throughput to insert DNA into the nucleus of cells. The Amaxa Nucleofector II and the HT 96 well Shuttle Module can transfect both primary cell types and individual cell lines. In addition to cDNA, shRNA or siRNA libraries (targets) transfection capability, the Amaxa 96 Well HT Shuttle module has the capabilities to transfect from 1 individual cell type up to 96 different cell types at a time. In order to obtain these results we must purchase the HT 96 well Shuttle module that works with our current Amaxa Nucleofector II instrument. No other manufacturer has access to this proprietary technology which includes the reagents and instrument. This is not a solicitation for competitive proposals. However, if any other interested party believes that it can meet the requirements it may submit a statement of capabilities. The capability statement and any other information furnished must be in writing and must contain material in sufficient details to allow NIDDK to determine if the party can meet all of the foregoing requirements. Offers must also be accompanied by descriptive literature, warranties and/or other information that demonstrates that the offer meets all of the foregoing requirements. Offerors may request a copy of the Request for Quotation (RFQ) in writing or by FAX to the Contracting Office prior to the closing date of this notice. It is anticipated that the RFQ# NIH-NIDDK-07-276 will be available fifteen (15) days after the publication of this synopsis. Receipts of quotations will be due ten (10) days after the release of the RFQ. If you have any questions, please contact Tina Robinson on 301-402-8778 or by fax on 301-480-7443. Collect calls will not be accepted. The determination to compete or not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. PLEASE NOTE: In order to receive an award, contractor must be registered and have valid certification in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) http://www.ccr.gov
