Description
The U.S. Department of the Treasury is seeking a Program Officer who will serve as the Iraq Project Coordinator in the Office of Technical Assistance Office (OTA) in Washington, D.C. The person selected will be hired under a personal services contract. The Office of Technical Assistance provides overseas advisors to 30 countries in five functional areas: enforcement, government debt issuance and management, budget policy, financial institutions policy, and tax policy. The Iraq Project Coordinator will provide support to multiple intermittent and resident advisors from the Banking, Budget and Debt teams; assist in project management tasks, such as review of work program timelines; coordinate with OTA Program Officers in the contracting and placement of all project personnel; and provide detailed reporting on the engagement. It is anticipated that the contractor will serve as the Iraq Project Coordinator through June 12, 2008 and will be paid at a higher rate of compensation. The contractor will revert back to the title of Program Officer and will be paid at a lower rate of compensation. Program Officers Duties - Program Officers will provide administrative support and assist in some project management support for intermittent and overseas resident advisors in one of the functional areas and will provide general support for operations in all areas. The ideal candidate will have a masters degree in international affairs or a relevant subject matter; two to five years of work experience, preferably in USG foreign assistance; project management experience; overseas experience; some foreign language capability; computer skills and excellent written and oral communication skills. SALARY: In accordance with program regulations and based on demonstrated salary history, starting salaries are negotiable from $79,397 to 103,220.
