Description
The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, Education and Information Division, Cincinnati, Ohio to better understand the differences in prior occupational safety and health (OSH) training, risk perception, risk acceptance and work adjustment strategies in recent Hispanic Immigrant Workers (HIW), non-recent Hispanic Workers (NRHW) and American Born Workers (ABW) by administering 300 surveys. The results will be used in subsequent phases of the study to develop a culturally sensitive OSH training program for HIW in construction and to evaluate the effectiveness of culturally tailored OSH training modules as compared to untailored OSH training modules for HIW in construction. The purpose of this purchase order is to provide services for the recruitment, coordination and administering of 300 surveys to Hispanic immigrant and American born workers regarding OSH training. A total of 300 surveys will be administered in Cincinnati, Ohio, to ensure a broad range of perspectives respresentating distribution half male and half female participants. Within the scope of this purchase order, the logistics of recruiting participants for the survey will include providing any compensation to the participants for their time completing the survey. Detailed Technical Requirements and completion dates: 1) Develop recruitment / survey administration plan, within 3 months of award of purchase order. 2) Assemble team of survey administrators, within 6 months of award of purchase order. 3) Recruit survey respondents and administer surveys, 300 surveys (100 HIW, 100 NRHW and 100 ABW. Contractor must be able to set up a mechanism for providing each respondent with compensation for his/her time. The time frame for completion of this task is within 12 months of purchase order award. In order to ensure the quality of the data the contractor will have 1) strong ties to the immigrant community in Cincinnati, Ohio, 2) recruited participants for OSH research in the Latino immigrant community in an emerging community, 3) administered health related surveys in the Latino immigrant community and 4) bi-lingual capacity to administer surveys to both English and Spanish speaking respondents.
