- Description
- The U.S. Department of Commerce, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, has a requirement to acquire pulse forming networks (PFN), NSN: 5915-01-360-9876, ASN: R400-3A12A6 designed specifically for use in the National Weather Service WSR-88D radar. The PFN is identified as Westinghouse part number 1D20989H01 and has been manufactured by Sora Power, Inc and TDL, Inc. These are the only two sources known to have the drawings and specifications needed to manufacture a part that complies with the Westinghouse part number used in the WSR-88D radar. Due to the length of the production lead time for this equipment, the Government, at its discretion, may make multiple awards for indefinite delivery indefinite quantity type contracts for this equipment that will cover a three (3) to five (5) year period. The Government, at its discretion, may require first article testing. The acquisition will be conducted in accordance with the processes set forth in FAR Part 12 ? Commercial Items. NAICS code 335999 is applicable. A solicitation will be issued on or before July 2, 2007. Firms other than TDL, Inc and Sora Power, interested in this requirement must respond to this notice by submitting demonstrated evidence of its capability and experience in manufacturing the exact part specified and its use in the WSR-88D radar. This is a 100% small business set-aside. Copies of bid documents will be available via electronic means consisting of accessing the FedTeds system at ttps://www.fedteds.gov/. In order to access the FedTeds system, contractors must be registered with FedTeds. The Central Region Acquisition Division requires that all contractors doing business with this Acquisitions Office must be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) and Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA). No award can be made unless the vendor is registered in CCR. In order to register in CCR and ORCA and to be eligible to receive an award from this acquisition office, all bidders must have a Dun & Bradstreet number. Additionally, completion of the on-line representations and certifications application (ORCA) is required.
