- Description
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is requesting information on the current capabilities and future capacity for influenza diagnostic testing in clinical laboratories; and, laboratories associated with clinical laboratories that use "home-brew" testing procedures; or, use analyte specific reagents (ASRs) to conduct such testing. Respondents are requested to provide the following information relative to this type of testing: 1) the approximate number of specimens currently tested per year; 2) the estimated maximum number of specimens that could be tested in a day (with single shift coverage); 3) additional automation that is feasible/considered; 4) the type of facility where testing is being performed; 5) the source of reagents; 6) turnaround time; 7) the approximate price per test; and, 8) the approximate price for supplies, reagents, and equipment. No contracts are contemplated in the immediate future; however, the CDC is conducting market research to assess these capabilities as an additional resource in the event of an influenza virus pandemic; and, may consider future award of contracts to build or expand such influenza virus detection and identification capabilities, as may become necessary in the future. Respondents are requested to submit capability statements to Bonnie Kennedy, CDC Procurement and Grants Office, via e-mail at bskennedy@cdc.gov, by no later than July 6, 2007. Please be sure to provide your organization?s technical qualifications to perform this work; and, information required to assess your organization?s small business size status (i.e., average gross annual receipts for preceding three fiscal years; and, number of employees).
