- Description
- Notice of Intent to award a Sole Source Procurement. The Government intends to issue a sole source purchase order for the purchase of X-Ray Scanner Maintenance service at the Official Mail Center in building 201 in support of the 460th Space Communications Squadron at Buckley Air Force Base, Colorado for a base period of performance of 28 Jun 2007 to 30 Sep 2007 and four option years (1 October 2007 - 30 September 2011) in accordance with FAR Part 12 Regulations, Acquisition of Commercial Items. The potential award will go to American Science and Engineering (AS&E) 829 Middlesex Turnpike Billerica, MA 01821. This requirement is considered sole source due to the fact that market research was conducted stating that this x-ray scanner system is manufactured with Proprietary Information (The Government was unable to locate any other vendor or licensed individual to provide this service). Additionally, AS&E will not be able to provide any support or documentation to any other vendors. The 460th Contracting Squadron intends to award a purchase order by other than full and open competition in accordance with FAR Subpart 6.302-1 (a)(2)(iii). Only one responsible source is known and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals.
