Description
The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, Contracts Management Office (DARPA/CMO) intends to award a sole source contract to Athena Technologies, Inc., 6876 Watson Court, Vint Hill Tech Park, Warrenton, VA, 20187 under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements, 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). The proposed procurement is for the further development and demonstration of an integrated, full-mission capability to autonomously detect and recover from damage (battle, mishap, or component failure) that degrades vehicle flight and stability. This effort will improve upon algorithms developed by the contractor under previous phases of research and build upon experience gained from earlier demonstrations. High-order, integrated functionality to efficiently apply the algorithms for the purpose of providing integrated, full-mission damage tolerance will be implemented. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals and a written solicitation will not be issued. The decision not to compete this specific effort was made based on the success of the contractor's technology demonstrated to date. Questions should be addressed to Mr. Christopher Glista, Contracting Officer, DAPRA/CMO, 3701 N. Fairfax Drive, Arlington, VA 22203-1714, Email: christopher.glista@darpa.mil. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
