- Description
- The U.S. Army RDECOM - Natick Contracting Division, Kansas Street, Natick, MA on behalf of the United States Army Program Executive Office Soldier, Ft. Belvoir, VA has a requirement for the manufacture and delivery of Fire Resistant Army Combat Unif orm (FR ACU) and Fire Resistance Airmen Battle Uniform (FR ABU). The Army is seeking to incorporate increased Fire Resistance (FR) into the current Army Combat Uniform. The new Fire Resistant Army Combat Uniform (FR ACU) will dramatically enhance the Sold iers protection from flash fire while maintaining the utility and comfort of the current ACU thereby improving overall performance and user acceptance. The Air Force is seeking to incorporate Fire Resistance (FR) into the current Airmen Battle Uniform (AB U). The new FR ABU will provide Airmen protection from flash fire. The added FR protection will not degrade the performance, utility, or comfort of the current ABU. The FR ACU and fabrics contained in the FR ACU must be manufactured according to the phys ical performance requirements of GL-PD-07-12 (FR ACU Fabric) dated 28 Feb 07, and GL-PD-07-13 (FR ACU Coat) dated 01 Mar 07, and GL-PD-07-14 (FR ACU Trousers) dated 01 Mar 07. The solicitation does not require a specific fiber or fiber blend, fabric weig ht or construction , but does require UCP printing. The FR ABU must be manufactured according to FQ/PD 06-11 (ABU Trousers, Men), FQ/PD 06-12 (ABU Trousers, Women), FQ/PD 06-13 (ABU Coat, Women), and FQ/PD 06-08 (ABU Coat, Men), with all four Purchase D escriptions dated 15 Mar 06. Purchase Descriptions will be posted on the Natick Website available at www3.natick.army mil (Business Opportunities/Upcoming Acquisitions/W911QY-07-R-0015 ) on or about 22 June 2007. The Government anticipates that this acqu isition will result in a Firm Fixed Price four year Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Contract with a minimum amount of FR ACUs is 5,000 each and a maximum amount of 140,000 each. The minimum amount for the FR ABUs is 150 each and a maximum amount is 5,000 each. A single contract is anticipated but the Government reserves the right to make multiple awards or no award. This competitive acquisition is full and open. The North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) IS 315299. Comme nts relating to this synopsis should be submitted via email to James E.
