- The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking Offerors for the construction of a new Ambulatory Bed Tower at the VA Medical Center in Cleveland, OH. The firm must be a general construction firm with an approved 2002 NAICS code 236220 and have a bonding capacity of approximately $100 million. The firm must have hospital exprience with contracts as a prime contractor in the $100 million range. The project scope is construction of a new 258,080 GSF Cares Bed Tower Addition. The new addition will be 8 levels with a penthouse and will abut the existing hospital. There will also be a connection to the existing hospital. The existing hospital shall be kept open for use by visitors, patients and hospital staff during construction. the construction cost range is between $50,000,000 and $100,000,000. Goals for the subcontracting plan are as follows: 35% (SB), 10%(SDB) 6% (WOB), 3% (HUDZone), 7% (VOSB) and 3% (SCVOB). A pre-proposal conference is scheduled for July 12, 2007 at 2:00 PM local time at the VA Medical Center in Cleveland. Sealed proposals are due to the Contracting Officer by August 15, 2007, 3:00 pm EDT. There will be no public opening. All ooferors must ensure that their firms have the ability to provide both 100% performance and 100% payment bonds. The proposals will be evaluated and award made on the basis of Best Value in accordance with the FAR Subpart 15. Contract will be award SUBJECT TO AVAILABLE FUNDS.
