- The US Forest Service, Mt Hood NF anticipates the issuance of a solicitation for the restoration of the Timberline Lodge Northwest Chimney to include the following work elements: reconstruction from the flashing level up, the systematic removal of the stone veneer and documentation of the stonework placement, demolition of teh brick chimney, removal and storage of ornaments, construction of new chimney as well as other work to be detailed in the specifications. There will be two optional bid items for similar work to be performed on the Southwest Chimney. The work shall be performed at the Timberline Lodge on the Mt Hood NF, 50 miles east of Portland Oregon off of Highway 26. The contract performance period shall be 60 days after receipt of notice to proceed from the Contracting Officer. As this facility is a National Historical Landmark, the US Forst Service will perform an indept review of all proposals received to insure any award made will be made to a firm with extensive experience with restoration of historical facilities.
