Description
The Navy Geothermal Program Office, China Lake, California intends to procure on a full and open competitive basis a firm fixed price contract to have two geothermal test core holes drilled at the Naval Air Facilities, El Centro, California. The drill sites are located approximately 15 miles west of the town of Brawley, California. The holes will be a minimum of 3,000 feet deep, with an option to a maximum of 4,000 feet, dependent on geologic conditions, and will provide core samples, cuttings and geophysical and other technical data for use of the Navy in its investigation of the resource potential. The material to be drilled is estimated to be predominately alluvium and consolidated sediments, with some granitic bedrock at depth. The Contractor shall be required to use blowout prevention equipment and a core drilling rig capable of safely drilling with HQ wireline tools (no less than an NQ-size) a hole to 4,000 feet. Geophysical logging tools available with the logging truck shall include: ABI-40 Acoustic Televiewer, or equivalent. Bid prices for the logging shall also include: setup, truck mileage, remote operation charge, tool protection, preliminary log data processing. Proposals are requested on a firm-fixed price basis to include all mobilization, equipment, supplies, materials, labor and supervision. The project is estimated to take no more than 95 days from site preparation to completion of drilling and geophysical logging. The Request for Proposal (RFP) will be released on or about July 1st and close approximately thirty days later. Additional information will be available with the RFP (Statement of work (SOW) is included with the RFP). The RFP will be electronically available at http://www.neco.navy.mil or http://www.fedbizopps.gov all contractors must be registered in Central Contractor Registration (CCR) to be eligible for an award.
