Description
The U.S. Department of Commerce, NOAA, intends to solicit for purchase of 100 each, RS-232 Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) Surge Adapter, in accordance with Drawing No. 62828-90148-1, NSN: 5935-01-399-2554. The item is being purchased for the National Weather Service, to be delivered to the National Logistics Support Center, Kansas City, MO. This item supports the National Weather Service (NWS) Automated Surface Observing System (ASOS) spare parts program. General Description: The RS232, RFI/Surge Adapter shall be a filter/surge suppressor to perform Electromechanical Interference (EMI) and surge protection on RS-232 signals. Detail Specifications: The filter/suppressor shall operate with standard RS-232 signal levels at up to 38,400 baud and shall be wired pin to pin (i.e. pin 2 to pin 2, pin 3 to pin 3, etc.). Of the 25 pins, 24 pins shall be filtered. Pin 1 shall not be surge protected or filtered. Pin 1 is a chassis ground and shall be wired straight through (i.e. pin 1 to pin 1). Pin 1 shall not be connected to case ground. Surge protection shall be shunted to case ground. Power Requirements: Current Rating: load current, .2 amperes per pin maximum; Operating Voltage: +/- 30 VDC (Volts Direct Current); DC Resistance: 0.2 ohms or less. Physical Requirements: Both the input and output connectors shall be 25 pin subminiature socket (receptacle) type connectors. The input connector shall be marked as input and shall have #4-40 clinch nuts. The output connector shall have #4-40 clinch nuts. The intended procurement is for supplies for which the government intends to acquire under the guidelines of FAR Part 12, Commercial Items. Any small business sources are encouraged to respond to this announcement within 5 calendar days after its publication. Also include the name, telephone number, and point of contact for businesses or other government agency to which it has previously provided the item. Failure to provide the required information may deem your request non-responsive. The government reserves the right to solicit quotes based on receipt of affirmative responses to this notice. The NAICS code for this action is 335999. This requirement shall be considered a 100% small business set-aside. All responsible sources may submit a quote which will be considered by the Agency.
