Description
The Aviation Integration Directorate (AID), U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command, is seeking sources for a commercial off-the-shelf Compact/Rugged Image Intensified CCD Video Camera which meets the following requirements: Camera: GEN III, Extended Blue, Image Intensifier with fiber optic input window and a fiber optic output window coupling to the CCD. Minimum required sensitivity for operation under cloudy, moonless illumination. Maximum operational conditions would be cloudless, full overhead moon illumination. Intensifier can be single or dual stage, single stage is desired. CCD sensor shall be Quarter VGA resolution at minimum. Interface can be analog or digital, differential analog is preferred. Resolution can be higher, e.g. full VGA or other approximate resolutions. Instantaneous dynamic range shall support a minimum of 100:1, 1000:1 is desired. Lens shall support a minimum 90 deg full angle FOV. Higher FOV lens is desirable up to 170 deg full angle. Lens shall support the full spectrum of th e GEN III, extended blue sensor. MTF shall support 4 line pairs/deg, including the GFE filter, with response not dropping below 85% over the full FOV. Total veiling glare, from sources within or outside the FOV, shall be less than 5%. The first lens surfac e must be hard coated to protect against environmental erosion or chemical exposure. Camera shall allow bonding of a GFE filter on the intensifier input image plane. Filter size can be adjusted to meet the camera interface. Anticipated filter is 15 mm diam eter and 5.5 mm thick.. Remote digital control of Intensifier gain, Intensifier gate width and CCD gain is required. Maximum camera frame rate is 30 Hz. Intensifier gate widths shall span 10 nanoseconds to 30 milliseconds as a minimum. It is desirable tha t camera be capable of long time exposure integration times out to a maximum of 5 seconds. Camera operation over a temperature range of -50 to +50 deg C is desired. Camera should support gain correction over this temperature range. Gain is desired to be c orrected internally or it would be acceptable to provide a temperature sensor to allow external calibration. Compliance with MIL-STD-8 10 airborne environmental requirements, including sealing against moisture, is desired. Compliance with MIL-STD-461 air borne EMI requirements is desired. Camera must operate with 28vDC prime power. Camera should be capable of operating over the power conditions defined in MIL-STD-704B. Camera shall weigh less than 2 lbs, 1 %2 pounds is desirable. Image center shall be al igned to within 1 deg of the camera mounting axis. Power consumption shall be less than 5 watts, 2 watts is desirable. Camera must contain a gain limiting function to eliminate camera damage from exposure to high intensity sources, i.e. direct exposure to sunlight. Power and signal interfaces are desired to be through a single connector, two connectors would be acceptable. Camera shall support Built-in-Test functions to evaluate camera health. Interested firms should indicate their capability to provide the require d equipment by furnishing (1) a description of their camera(s) that meet the above requirements, (2) estimated price, (3) delivery time and (4) a technical POC for additional information. The required information and questions concerning this requiremen t should be directed to Mr. Rob Hartel at rhartel@aatd.eustis.army.mil , at the above address or telephonically at (757) 878-0172. The purpose of this announcement is only to identify potential sources. The Government will not award a contract or purchas e order based on the information provided.
