Description
THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. This is a notice of intent to award a sole source contract under statutory authority 10 USC 2304(c)(1), set forth in Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. Marine Corps Forces Central Command (MARCENT) has a requirement for Knoll Office furniture. All MARCENT facilities currently have Knoll Office furniture. The Knoll modular furniture is interlocking and must be attached to the same model furniture. Knoll Office Furniture is the only furniture that can be used to ensure stability and system integrity. The 6th Contracting Squadron intends to award to Knoll, Inc. c/o Beaux-Arts Group, Inc, 1235 Water St, East Greenville, PA 18041-2202. Beaux-Arts Group, Inc is the only authorized reseller of Knoll Office Furniture in the Tampa Bay area. Interested parties may e-mail lacy.etherton-03@macdill.af.mil or fax 813-828-5111, SrA Lacy Etherton, not later than Friday, 22 Jun 2007, 9:00 a.m. EST. Numbered Notes 22 V. DEMONSTRATION THAT THE CONTRACTOR?S UNIQUE QUALIFICATIONS OR NATURE OF THE ACQUISITION REQUIRES THE USE OF THE AUTHORITY CITED ABOVE (APPLICABILITY OF AUTHORITY) Marine Corps Forces Central Command (MARCENT) has installed Knoll modular furniture in all MARCENT facilities. The Knoll modular furniture design?s stability and system integrity hinges on the attachment of properly fitted cubicle systems. In addition, the MARCENT Knoll cubicle system was designed and set-up to maximize the available space within MARCENT. To conjoin another cubicle system would seriously degrade the entire system and would not allow for the maximum use of available space. The other option would be to purchase an entire cubicle system which is currently valued at $439K. Pursuing another cubicle system would not be cost effective nor would it be reasonable when additional Knoll cubicle systems can be purchased for $32K.
