- The Advanced Technology Development Group, Operations Planning in the FAA Air Traffic Organization (ATO-P) is currently drafting an initial Advisory Circular (AC) to provide industry and airport operators with interim guidance for the acquisition and operation of automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast (ADS-B) equipment in airport surface vehicles that operate in the movement area of certain U.S airports. This is a Market Survey to assess the present state of the commercial market for "off-the-shelf" vehicle ADS-B systems and to obtain specifications and other operating parameters of these existing ADS-B systems to aid in development of the initial AC.
