Description
This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities(FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov/ and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line(NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport intends to award a firm fixed price contract under FAR part 12 & 13 procedures (commercial items, simplified acquisition procedures), with the solicitation being issued in less than 15 days per FAR 5.203(a) and (h). NUWCDIVNPT intends to purchase the following items, sole make and model is required, no substitutes. CLIN 0001 (30 EA) Supermicro 1U SuperServer model 1021M-T2B with the following hardware to be fully integrated into the servers: Motherboard: SuperMicro H8DMR-i2; Processor: 2 AMD Opteron 2220 @ 2.8Ghz; Operating System: None; Memory: 8 GB - DDR2 667 MHz DIMMS - 4 x 2GB chips; Host Channel Adapter (HCA):PCI Express x8 - Dual-Port 20Gb/s InfiniBand HCA; Optical Drive: DVD R; CLIN 0002 (1 EA) Supermicro 3U SuperServer model 833T-R760B with the following hardware to be fully integrated into the servers: Motherboard: SuperMicro H8DME-2; Processor: 2 AMD Opteron 2220 @ 2.8Ghz; Operating System: None; Memory: 8 GB - DDR2 667 MHz DIMMS - 4 x 2GB chips; Boot Drive: One 250GB IDE; Hard Drive: Eight 750GB SATA; Host Channel Adapter (HCA): PCI Express x8 - Dual-Port 20Gb/s InfiniBand HCA; Optical Drive: DVD RW; Raid Card: 3ware 9650SE-8LPML - 8-port Low-profile PCI-E SATAII ML The intent of Common USW Sonar program is to establish a facility that supports both Surface Ship and Submarine USW applications using common hardware. An investigation of both Surface Ship and Submarine applications has identified the subject equipment as the best architecture that supports both types of applications. The hardware is not distributor specific, but the specifications of the systems identified in this procurement must not be modified. The identified Supermicro SuperServer models 1021M-T2B (1U) and 833T-R760B (3U) as described above is selected specifically to work with existing hardware and software of the Common USW Sonar Facility and can not be substituted. In accordance with FAR 19.502-2(b), this procurement is 100% set-aside for small business. NAICS code is 334111, size standard is 1000 employees.
