Description
The US Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District, intends to award a contract for upgrading electrical equipment at Detroit and Big Cliff Dam Powerhouses, located approximately 35 miles east of Salem, Oregon. The work at Detroit Dam includes, but is not limited to replacing the motor generator sets with new battery chargers, replacing the 125V DC battery switchboard, the 208/120 volt load center, the 480V power center main and feeder breakers, the 480V motor co ntrol center breakers, the generator and transformer relays, 13.8KV isophase bus risers to the transformers, the 13.8KV current limiting reactors, and station service transformers with new equipment and installing new disconnect links. The work at Big Cliff Dam includes, but is not limited to replacing the motor generator sets with new battery chargers, replacing the 125V DC battery switchboard, the generator relays, and the station service breaker with new equipment. A Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) shall be provided for all new contracts with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District. For this project the person that will act as the SSHO is required to have a minimum of 3 years safety work with simil ar projects and a 30 Hour OSHA construction safety class, or equivalent, taken within the last 3 years. The SSHO may have other duties for this work that include being the Contractor on-site Project Manager and/or the on-site CQC Manager or other responsi ble individual. This procurement is open to both small and large business concerns. This is a Best Value Procurement. The magnitude of construction for this solicitation is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. Evaluation and rating factors will be included in the s olicitation when issued. Anticipated solicitation issue date is 24 June 2007, with proposals due 30 days after issue.
