Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation/Purchase Request number F2KBAA7096A001 is issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ). This item is being solicitated on an unrestricted basis. The NAICS Code for this synopsis/solicitation is 541380, Size Standard $11M. This document incorporates provisions and clauses that are in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-16 effective 22 March 2007. The Government intends to award one contract line item number (CLIN 0001) for Cyclotron Beam Time: Beam time at a proton irradiation facility in order to irradiate microelectronic parts for evaluation of their susceptibility to space radiation. The facility must provide proton energies of 50, 100, 150, and 200 MeV at a flux of 1E8 protons/cm2/s and fluence of 1E10 protons/cm2. The beam diameter must be at least two (2) inches with collimators available for reducing beam size. The facility must provide dosimetry to determine energy, flux, fluence, and incremental total dose. The facility must provide an instrumentation area for test equipment to support the parts being irradiated. The instrumentation area must have cable access to the irradiation chamber with cable runs not to exceed 80 feet. The time will be used between 01 July 2007 and 01 January 2008, depending on when the experimental samples are complete. QUANTITY: 48. UNIT OF MEASURE: HOURS.
