Description

The National Institutes of Standards and Technology (NIST), Acquisition Management Division, on behalf of the Optical Technology Division, intends to negotiate on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 13.106(b)(1), with Judson Technologies, of Montgomeryville, Pennsylvania for the purchase of five Extended InGaAs Detectors. Sole source determination is based on the following: NIST currently owns and utilizes an existing Judson Technologies Extended InGaAs Detector. The purchase of the additional Extended InGaAs Detectors must be 100 percent compatible with the existing equipment to ensure data compatibility between the equipment. The equipment being purchased is to be used for an existing contract NIST currently has with the Air Force. Judson Technologies is the sole manufacturer and sole distributor of this equipment. No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, responses received by June 19, 2007 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
