- SYNOPSIS NUMBER: CODE: V-Transportation, Travel, and Relocation TITLE: Vessel Charter in Support of Scientific Research for North Pacific Right Whale Studies, Bering Sea SOLICITATION NUMBER: AB133F-07-RP-0117 RESPONSE DATE: July 15, 2007 CONTACT: Alex Smith, Contract Specialist at 206/526-6379 100% Small Business Set Aside TEXT: The contractor shall provide a charter vessel in support of a National Marine Fisheries Scientific Research Team. The Scientist will Conduct biological and ecological of North Pacific right whales and their habitat in the southeastern Bering Sea. The primary objectives of this research are deploying radio and satellite transmitters on whales, in addition conducting photo identification, biopsy sampling, acoustic and oceanographic sampling. Vessel requirements will be identified in the solicitation. Vessel requirements are strict and are non negotiable. The term of the charter will be for approximately 14 to 20 days in August-September 2007 with the option of two additional charters. One in August-September 2008 and the second optional period of August-September 2009 Documents for the Request for Proposals (RFP) will be available on or about June 15, 2007, to download through the Government's website at http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. No paper copies will be issued. Interested parties should use the FedBizOpps [REGISTER TO RECEIVE NOTIFICATION] and [REGISTER AS AN INTERESTED VENDOR] features which provide notification when the RFP becomes available for download as well as all postings of information associated with this solicitation, thereafter. Each potential offeror is responsible for checking this website to gain all current information related to this solicitation. Any further announcements regarding this solicitation will be posted only at http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. The ESTIMATED response due date is July 15, 2007; however, the actual due date of offers will be stated within the solicitation documents. This procurement is 100% small business set aside. The NAICS Code is 532411 with a size standard of $6.5 million. All questions of any nature regarding this solicitation should be sent via email addressed to alex.smith@noaa.gov.
