Description
This is a market survey only. The US Army JM&L - Life Cycle Management Command, Picatinny NJ 07806-5000 is interested in acquiring information on either commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) items or non-developmental item (NDI) as follows: a. Lightweight and waterproof soft carrying case shall act as a storage sleeve, capable of completely enclosing a shotgun system including accessories and cleaning kit. The soft carrying case shall be required to support the weight and dimensions listed below. The soft shall be compatible with the MOLLE system and be capable of attachment in multiple locations to the Soldiers??? rucksack. The soft carrying case shall have a handle and a detachable shoulder strap. The soft carrying case shall provide storage for accessories and cleaning kit with following dimensions: 1. Weapon system dimensions: Length = 26??? width = 11??? (L26??? X W11???) 2. Accessory minimum required: Length = 7??? width = 3??? (L26??? X W11???) 3. Cleaning Kit dimension: Length = 26??? width = 11??? (L26??? X W11???) 4. Combined weight: 10lbs b. Lightweight and waterproof magazine pouches that shall be capable of holding a full load of four (4) 5-round magazines or seven (7) 3-round magazines provided with weapon system. The magazine pouches shall enclose the magazines securely and prevent dust from freely contaminating the contents. They shall utilize a positive enclosure retention system that requires a deliberate action for release. The pouches shall be compatible with the MOLLE systems and other Load Bearing Equipment (LBE) so that the Soldier has the flexibility to locate the pouches according to their personal preferences. It is also desired that the pouch be capable of being inserted into and attached in multiple locations to the Soldiers??? tactical vests, assault packs, field packs. Two types of magazine pouches are sought, one with a capacity of two magazines and another with a capacity of four magazines. It is a desired capability that the pouches be capable of being attached to each other to provide a second row at an offset height (to allow free access to all pouches) and to carry at least 20 rounds of ammunition. 1. Magazine Dimension: Length = 6.5??? width = 3.5??? Depth = 1.5??? (6.5??? X 3.5??? X 1.5???) Product information and samples should include two (2) samples of the following as described above: (a.) Soft carrying case and (b.) magazine pouch. Send all hardware samples and product information to: Commander, Acquisition Center, Picatinny, NJ 07806, Attn: AMSML-AQ-SW, David Street, Bldg. 9. Any samples provided will be provided at no cost to the U.S. Army. The product information along with any hardware samples will be used as an indication that companies have hardware already designed and readily available. Potential contractors must be able to produce a minimum of 500 per month with a production surge capability to 800 per month for desired hardware (i.e., Soft Carrying Case and Magazine Pouches). If a company has an existing commercially available or non-developmental item that meets these requirements, please provide brochures or other information relative to the performance, maintenance, and physical characteristics (i.e. size, weight, etc.) of the product. This is a market survey, not a pre-solicitation notice. There is no formal solicitation available at this time. No award will be made as a result of this market survey. If a formal solicitation is generated at a later date, a solicitation notice will be published. All product information and hardware samples shall be submitted at no cost or obligation to the government. The government reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part, any private sector input as a result of this market survey.
