Description
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to issue a sole source purchase order to CTL Analyzers LLC, 10515 Carnegie Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44106, for a ImmunoSpot S5 Micro Analyzer, specifications as follows: high-resolution (1600?1200) digital color camera; highly optimized lens system for enhanced ELISPOT work including double-color assays; versatile scanning options for scanning and analysis of all 24- to 96-well plate types; SmartLux: CTL's intelligent lighting system. Includes proprietary upper and lower light sources for even illumination of well surfaces and plate bottoms, thus providing ideal image quality; Accurate Well Capture: 100% of the well bottom surface is captured using autocentering with user-definable safety margins; FastScan: Fully automated, "walk away" scanning of a 96-well plate in ~1.5 minutes/plate; fully loaded with ImmunoSpot Version 4.0 Academic Software; readily used in a GLP environment; one-year warranty included. Technical Specifications and Features: ImmunoSpot Image Acquisition Unit with: fully automated, "walk away" scanning. Auto center for precise acquisition of the entire membrane surface for clear and white plate types, high-resolution (1600?1200 pixel) camera with selectable lower resolution settings, SmartLux: CTL's intelligent lighting system. Includes proprietary upper and lower light sources for even illumination of well surfaces and plate bottoms, thus providing ideal image quality, highly optimized lens apparatus with excellent optical performance and wide zoom range, permitting crisp image capture from 96-, 48-, and 24-well plates with equal quality to Auto-Light, proprietary CTL feature which automatically adjusts the light settings for individual wells, permitting even illumination and optimal image quality, scans all 24- to 96-well plate types, including white and clear plates with membranes, transparent membrane-less plates, and low volume plates. Versatile scanning options permit fine-tuning and optimizing analyzer use for different plate types and applications (e.g. viral plaque and colony counting), Encoder-controlled, slip-proof, high-precision two-axis durable ball bearing stage with servo motors for position verification and well authentication, high-end PC (3.2 GHz) with Pentium IV processor, high-speed DVD+RW/+R/-RW/-R + CDR/RW for data archiving loaded with Windows XP Professional. 1 GB RAM and one 80 GB hard drive, two 120 GB hard drives customized for handling high-resolution image analysis at high throughput rates, integrated 20" flat panel monitor (1600?1280 pixels), Compact Unit: Integrated keyboard tray provides compact, comfortable work environment, Dust Cover: Customized dust cover to protect instrument when not in use. ImmunoSpot ImmunoCapture Software: Easy Scan mode: Scans a plate in just four easy steps, direct sample well mode: Enables individual sampling of single wells in a plate, customized plate type creation: Allows users to customize their plate types and formats in a user friendly manner, autonaming mode: Automatically names plates following scanning process, SmartCapture: Physical positioning of well not required, speeding up scanning process, full membrane region capture technique. Ensures that no spots are lost. Data output features: data can be stored as lossless TIFF images or as JPEG files, high-resolution JPEG and TIFF overviews, scanning log file for data trail: For each well the corresponding plate, position on plate, date, time, and operator are recorded. ImmunoSpot Academic Software Version 4.0.--features include: ImmunoSpot Easy-Count: User-friendly five-step analysis process, ImmunoSpot Multi-Plate Auto Count (IMPAC): Permits uninterrupted, "walk away" counting of an indefinite number of plates, ImmunoSpot Multi-Parameter AutoCount: Permits analysis of multiple assays on an indefinite number of plates, Smart Count: Automated parameter setup based on proprietary counting algorithms. Fast, user friendly wizard-guided operation, Count Confidence: Automatically highlights results when spot confluence, high background or the presence of artifacts call the validity of counts into question, Smart Well: Automatically determines sensitivity levels based on well sampling, Spot Info: Provides quantitative information including spot location, spot size, mean and maximum spot intensity, spot circularity, mean well intensity, and histogram comparisons between multiple size distributions, Spot Mode: Customizes settings based on the specific spot characteristics, Region of Interest: Enables user to specify areas to be analyzed on each well, Autogate: An automated "gating" algorithm that uses a scientifically validated statistical technique to differentiate between signal and noise and to determine minimum and maximum spot sizes for different cytokines, Quality Control module: Permits the verification of counts generated by automated analysis. Allows the user to excise artifacts, compensate for leaking membranes, and perform other manual revisions, Manual Double-Color analysis: Analysis of red, blue, and double-color spots within the same well, advanced presentation/publication features, including direct export of well images, selectable well arrangements, and enlarged well segments to PowerPoint, direct Excel or XML output for spot numbers, mean spot size, and spot size distribution, data output interfaces with optional CTL SpotMap data management. Readily operated in a GLP environment. Two sessions of up to two hours of web-based training and consultation are included. User-installable. CDC believes that this requirement is met by only one provider. This procurement will be processed under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 and 6.302-2. Only one responsible source and no other sources will satisfy agency requirements. No solicitation is being issued.
