- Description
- The United States Coast Guard Maintenance & Logistics Command, Atlantic intends to issue a Commercial Request for Quote (RFQ) for Dockside Repairs to the USCGC MACKINAW (WLBB 30). The acquisition will be solicited Total Small Business Set-Aside. The Coast Guard intends to conduct the procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, and FAR Subpart 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The simplified acquisition will be issued as a Best Value, Request for Quote (RFQ), on or about May 10, 2007 The solicitation will be issued electronically on the FEDBIZOPPS web page at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. It is incumbent upon contractors to monitor the FEDBIZOPS web page for RFQ release and all subsequent amendments. Please sign up for the Auto Notification service to receive e-mail from FEDBIZOPPS when an action is taken under this solicitation. Hard copies of the specification and solicitation will not be issued. A CD-ROM containing all applicable drawings will be sent via U.S. mail, if requested. Send all requests via e-mail sandra.a.martinez@uscg.mil. The standard industrial classification code is 3732 and the NAICS is 336611. The homeport of the vessel is Cheboygan, MI. All work will be performed at the vessels homeport. The performance period is forty-two (42) calendar days with a start date on or about 20 August 2007. The contractor shall provide all labor, equipment necessary to perform dockside repairs to the USCGC MACKINAW including but not limited to the following Base and Option Items (1) Lighting Modification , (2) Weight Test Fixed Co2 System Cylinders, (3) Perform Hydraulic Chain Stopper Maintenance, (4) Perform Mechanical Chain Stopper Maintenance, (5) Perform Cross Deck Winch Maintenance, (6) Perform Chain Winch Maintenance, (7) Inspect and Weight Test Loose Rigging Gear, (8) Perform Buoy Crane Model EB-480-60-40 Maintenance, (9) Hydrostatic Testing Fire Hoses, (10) Inspect and Clean Shipboard Ventilation Systems, (11) Perform Anchor Windlass Maintenance, (12) Perform Mooring Winch Maintenance (13) Perform Model RAD30-15.5 Davit Maintenance, (14) Renew Deck Covering System(s), (15) Perform Warping Capstan, and (16) Perform Dual Point Davit ATON Workboat ? Model TW-PIV5 Maintenance. Trained welders, who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures, shall accomplish all welding and brazing. All reference documents are available for viewing at 300 East Main Street, Suite 500, Norfolk, VA 23510-9102. Drawings are now available on CD-ROM. The CD-ROM sets are available for all cutters and will be free of charge to contractors upon request [ten days from solicitation issuance]. MLCA must have ten (10) days advance notice to complete a CD-ROM set of drawings. The CD-ROM(s) contain WINDOWS compliant raster/vector formats (e.g.*.DWF, etc).
