Description
This requirement is being procured in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisitions Procedures. The office of Pacific marine environmental laboratory, located in Seattle, WA intends to acquire the following items: Six (6) each Paroscientific Inc. brand Model Met 1-2 Intelligent Barometer, P/N 1488-002, pressure range 800-1100 HPA in environmental enclosure with gill pressure port and RS-232 interface via VSG-4-BCL connector. NOAA Science Camp from July 2007 through September 2007. The Paroscientific Met 1-2 Intelligent Barometer measures atmospheric pressure on remotely moored ATLAS buoys. These buoys are part of a large international effort to monitor ocean conditions along the equatorial Pacific and have been an ongoing effort since 1982. Paroscientific is the only brand that possesses the accuracy and resolution proven on large scale deep ocean tests. These sensors can be used in the equatorial region where the atmospheric pressure signal is small, thus requiring a higher accuracy and greater resolution than in other regions in the world such as the Gulf of Alaska. Existing equipment is designed to interface with the Paroscientific?s output and is compatible with the PMEL logging instrumentation. Changing to any other vendor would require redesign of input circuitry, changing instrumentation software, and scheduling testing, which would result in additional time and expense to the Government. Delivery required no later than August 6, 2007. The intended acquisition is for supplies for which the Government intends to acquire from one source under the authority of 41 USC 234 (c) (1), Only One Responsible Source. This is not a request for proposals and there is no solicitation available at this time. The government reserves the right to solicit offers based on receipt of affirmative responses to this notice, or issue a contract to Paroscientific Inc. Only firms that can provide the exact items described herein will be considered. All interested parties must respond to this announcement within fifteen (15) calendar days of its publication. All responses must be in writing and may be faxed to (206) 526-6025 attention to Mona Ash. ****The Western Regional Acquisition Division, requires that all contractors doing business with this Acquisition Office be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR). NO award can be made unless the vender is registered in CCR. For additional information and to register in CCR please access the following web site: http://www.ccr.gov.
