Description

The US Geological Survey (USGS) has a requirement to test and calibrate a prototype system of impact sensors that can be used to infer gravel bedload transport rates in streams and rivers. Work will be accomplished in the Main Channel Flume with intake water from the Mississippi River. A final report will be prepared that documents required equipment, data acquisition, calibration results, and guidelines for use in-situ. No solicitation exists for this requirement. The USGS intends to make an award to The National Center for Earth-surface Dynamics (NCED), Saint Anthony Falls Laboratory (SAFL), University of Minnesota. This is the only known source of a main channel flume for the testing. The USGS plans to make this award under the Simplified Acquisition Threshold.
