Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This Solicitation No. FA8601-07-T-0047 is a Request for Quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-10. This is a Small Business Set-Aside. The non-manufacturing rule applies, there is no waiver. This purchase is for 11,000 ft. of Power Cable and 10,000 ft. of Diesel Locomotive Cable needed to support elevated temperature test operations, consisting of the specifications below. SIC Code 3357, NAICS Code 331422, Size Standard 1,000 Employees 1. The following requirements are for the purchase of Power Cable: Quantity: 11,000 ft. Awg (size): 4 Stranding: 133 / .0177 Insulation (mils): 0.03 Inner Jacket: 0.017 Thermal Barrier: 0.01 Moisture Barrier: 0.008 Outer Jacket: 0.017 Overall Diameter: 0.435 Amps: 235 Weight (lbs / K ft): 220 Approvals: UL approved lead wire 450?C. Must pass IEEE 383 modified 210,000 BTU vertical tray flame test at 1800?F, with circuit integrity for 2 1/2 hours minimum. Non UL operating temperature must withstand up to 2400?F short term. Conductor: Must be flexible stranded 27% nickle plated, annealed copper. Insulator: Phologopite mica tapes, fiberglass braid jacket, high-temp saturant. A phlogopite mica tape thermal barrier and a flouropolymer tape moisture barrier must be applied over the core. Overall fiberglass braid is to be treated with a high temperature saturant. Must be available with armor braid and multiconductor constructions. Application: High temperature cable must be designed for applications where flame retardancy is critical. 2.
