- The VA Mid-Atlantic Healthcare Region (VISN6) Central Acquisition Service intends to procure sole source with UpToDate, 95 Sawyer Road, Waltham, MA for on-line subscription access to provide a "search engine" benefit of over 330 medical journals, "topic review" comprised of over 6000 topical discussions (equivalent of more than 70,000 pages of text), graphics, Medline abstracts, and a complete drug database. On-line subscription also covers thirteen medical specialties and subspecialties such as: Adult Primary Care & Internal Medicine; cardiovascular Medicine; Endocrinology & Diabetes; Gastroenterology & Hepatology; Hematology; Infectious Diseases; Obstetrics & Gynecology; Oncology; Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine; Nephrology & Hypertension; Rheumatology; Family Practice; Pediatrics. Includes physician staff to provide reviews of the medical journals and incorporates significant clinical findings daily with updates provided every four months. NAICS code 516110 applies to this procurement. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit quotations. This notice of intent is not a request for quotations. Interested parties who believe they can meet this requirement must submit information about their capabilities no later than 5:00pm, May 29, 2007. All information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government. This award will be made using simplified acquisition procedures. No solicitation will be made available. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Telephone inquiries will not be accepted.
