- Vicksburg Consolidated Contracting Office intends to solicit on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 to MTS Systems Corporation, 14000 Technology Drive, Eden Prairie, MN 55344-2290. This procurement is being conducted under Simpli fied Acquisition Procedures (SAP) only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This requirement is for an upgrade to the controller hardware and software for our MTS mechanical testing actuators. MTS S ystems Corporation is the manufacturer of the existing hydraulic actuator system hardware, and is the only source that can provide these features unique to its equipment. The government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested o rganizations may submit their capabilities/qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact no later than 14:00 hrs Central Time Zone on 23-May-2007. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpo se of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the disc retion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. No RFP will be issued based upon this Notice of Intent.
