- On or about 12 June 2007, this office will issue Invitations for Bid for construction of Spring Gulch Outfall Pipe Installation, Chatfield Project, Littleton, CO. The solicitation will close on or about 12 July 2007. This solicitation is RESTRICTED TO HISTORICALLY UNDERUTILIZED BUSINESS ZONE or HUBZONE SMALL BUSINESS PARTICIPATION. This project is set-aside under the Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) Program. To be considered for award, successful bid der must be a certified HUBZone contractor. Status as a qualified HUBZone small business concern is determined by the Small Business Administration (SBA) in accordance with 13 CFR part 126. If the SBA determines that a concern is a qualified HUBZone smal l business concern, it will issue a certification to that effect and will add the concern to the List of Qualified HUBZone Small Business Concerns on its Internet website at http://www.sba.gov/hubzone. Project Description: (Approx. quantities) The construction contract consists of replacing an existing open-cut drainage ditch with an underground reinforced concrete pipe (RCP). The pipe will be approximately 880 feet in length and will be placed parallel to the existing ditch. The pipe will be a 30-inch diameter Class III RCP. Once the placement of the new pipe is completed and water is diverted back into it, the existing ditch will be filled in with compacted random fill and the area will be reshaped into a shallow ditch to collect surface draina ge. Borrow material for construction will come from a designated borrow area located downstream of Chatfield Dam. The entire area disturbed during construction will be top-soiled and reseeded. The estimated construction cost of this project is between $100,000 and $250,000. The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 90 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work i n the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. Bonding documents including the power of attorney shall bear an original signature by an officer of the surety.
