- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for brand name commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) intends to solicit and award a firm-fixed price purchase order under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 and 13. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334111. This acquisition is a Small Business set-aside. The solicitation is issued under the number HM157107T0001. Total proposed cost shall include all shipping and handling. The Government reserves the right to cancel this solicitation, with no obligation to the offeror by the Government. Award will be made on an all-or-none basis with only one award made to the lowest price offeror who meets the requirement for all line items and delivery (see CLINs for specific delivery schedules). If two or more low bids are equal in all respects, award will be in accordance with FAR 14.408-6. Offerors are required to submit a complete copy of FAR 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications, Commercial Items, with their offer. The controller will only do raid 0 and raid 1 and RAID 1 is usually only meant for 2 drives (not 5) The workstations are asking for 5 hard drives in some cases and a DVD +/-RW and a DVD/CD-RW. You cannot have 5 hard drives and 2 optical drives in a workstation. Response:1) The Server Configuration does not ask for 5 Hard Drives, the Servers (Configuration 1) have 4 Hard Drives per Server. Also on the Servers there was no RAID Setting Specified. 2) Per the HP Specifications Web Page, the xw9400 Chassis has three External 5.25" Drives bays suitable for Optical Drives and 5 3.25" Hard Drive Bays. Therefore he needs to provide some documentation that it won't work. While we did not include his quote in our Market Research because Sandra Broadnax got all over us for even talking to a Large Business, we did ask him for pricing on this order and he quoted these configurations. 3) On no configureation is RAID 1 Specified, therefore his comments concerning RAID 1 have no relavance. There are some workstations that have heterogenious drive mixes, so the following is what is desired: Config 1: 3xDL385-4 Hard Drives each -- No RAID Specified Config 2: 1 x xw9400 -- 4x146GB Drives - RAID 0 -- 1x750GB Drive - No RAID Config 3: 5x xw9400 -- 5x 750GB Drives - RAID 0 Config 4: 4x xw9400 -- 2x146GB Drives - RAID 0 -- 3x750GB Drives - No RAID Config 5: 4x xw9400 -- 2x146GB Drives - RAID 0 -- 3x750GB Drives - No RAID If there are any other questions let me know.
