Description
NOTICE OF INTENT TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, ALOSH, Morgantown, WV, Health Effects Lab Division and the Exposure Assessment Branch intends to issue a purchase order on a sole source basis to the University of Kentucky, 121 Washington Avneue, Sutie 220B, Lexington, KY 40536 to help NIOSH in developing the most appropriate metric for the assessment of exposure to wood dust. NIOSH researchers require assistance in the collection of field samples for method validation. This study forms part of an international initiative to develop improved samplling and analytical procedures for wood dust. Different commercially available sampling technologies will be evaluated, along with a novel method of discriminating wood dust from other environmental dust, in order to make recommendations as to the most appropriate methodology for exposure assessment. This program is to be spread over two years in order to encompass the timetable of project 927Z6RS. The option to fund the second year is subject to the availability of FY 2008 funds. Responsible sources that believe they possess the expertise and capabilities identified above are encouraged to submit to the Contracting Officer within 15 days from the posting date of this notice their capabilities statement and supporting information in the format they choose, not to exceed 10 pages. The government will review any/all capabilities statements and supporting information submitted and determine if other qualified sources do exist that could provide the requirement. Information received in response to this notice will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. All vendors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) prior to award of a federal contract. Vendors may register at www.ccr.gov. If no affirmative responses are received within 15 days, in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), negotiations will be conducted with the University of as the only source and a purchase order will be issued without any additional notices being posted.
