Description
NOTICE OF INTENT TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, ALOSH, Morgantown, WV, Health Effects Lab Division and the Exposure Assessment Branch intends to issue a purchase order on a sole source basis to Tulane University, 1430 Tulane Ave, Department of Environmental Health Sciences, New Orleans, LA 70112 to help NIOSH in developing the most appropriate metric for the assessment of exposure to wood dust. NIOSH researchers require assistance in the collection of field samples for method validation. This study forms part of an international initiative to develop improved sampling and analytical procedures for wood dust. Different commercially available sampling technologies will be evaluated, along with a novel method of discriminating wood dust from other environmental dust, in order to make recommendations as to the most appropriate methodology for exposure assessment. Responsible sources that believe they possess the expertise and capabilities identified above are encouraged to submit to the Contracting Officer within 15 days from the posting date of this notice their capabilities statement and supporting information in the format they choose, not to exceed 10 pages. Please forward capabilities and supporting information to: Rebecca Mullenax, Reference 000HCCCD-2007-42971, DHHS/PHS/CDC/NIOSH, 1095 Willowdale Road, Morgantown, WV 26505, or E-mail rmullenax@cdc.gov or fax to 304-285-6083. The government will review any/all capabilities statements and supporting information submitted and determine if other qualified sources do exist that could provide the requirement. Information received in response to this notice will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. All vendors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) prior to award of a federal contract. Vendors may register at www.ccr.gov. If no affirmative responses are received within 15 days, in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), negotiations will be conducted with Tulane University, as the only source and a purchase order will be issued without any additional notices being posted. Option to extend second year. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (16-MAY-2007). IT ACTUALLY APPEARED OR REAPPEARED ON THE FEDBIZOPPS SYSTEM ON 17-MAY-2007. PLEASE CONTACT fbo.support@gsa.gov REGARDING THIS ISSUE.
